Joshua S. Friedman is an American investor and businessman. He is the co-founder and co-executive chairman of Canyon Partners, LLC, a Los Angeles-based investment firm. He is also the co-founder and chairman of Canyon Capital Realty Advisors, LLC, a real estate investment firm. Friedman was born in 1956 in Boston, Massachusetts. He graduated from Harvard College in 1978 with a degree in economics. He then attended Harvard Law School, where he received his Juris Doctor degree in 1981. Friedman began his career as an attorney at the law firm of Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom in New York City. In 1990, he co-founded Canyon Partners, LLC, an investment firm that specializes in alternative investments. He is currently the co-executive chairman of the firm. In addition to his work at Canyon Partners, Friedman is also the co-founder and chairman of Canyon Capital Realty Advisors, LLC, a real estate investment firm. He is also a member of the board of directors of the Los Angeles County Museum of Art and the Los Angeles Philharmonic. As of 2021, Joshua S.
