He is also the former president of the Uruguayan Football Association. Amestoy studied accounting at the University of the Republic of Uruguay and graduated in 1950. He then worked as an accountant for several companies before founding the Amestoy Group in 1965. The company provides financial services such as accounting, auditing, tax advice, and financial planning. Amestoy has been involved in the Uruguayan football scene since the 1970s. He was the president of the Uruguayan Football Association from 1985 to 1989. He was also the president of the Uruguayan Football League from 1989 to 1993. Amestoy is married to Maria Teresa Borteiro and has three children. He is 85 years old and has an estimated net worth of $20 million.
