She was born on January 29, 1958 in Santa Monica, California. Norton began her career as a child actress, appearing in television commercials and guest-starring on television series such as The Brady Bunch and The Partridge Family. She was cast as Mary Ellen Walton on The Waltons in 1972, and remained with the show until its conclusion in 1981. After The Waltons, Norton continued to act in television and film, appearing in such projects as The Love Boat, Fantasy Island, and The Dukes of Hazzard. She also wrote and directed several short films, and wrote and produced the feature film The Secret of NIMH 2: Timmy to the Rescue. Norton is married to actor Robert Graves, and the couple have two children. Her net worth is estimated to be around $2 million.
