K. Parasaran is a renowned Indian lawyer and former Attorney General of India. He was born on 9 October 1927 in Srirangam, Tamil Nadu, India. He is the son of K. Subramania Iyer and Rukmani Ammal. He completed his schooling from St. Joseph's College, Tiruchirappalli and obtained his law degree from Madras Law College. He started his career as a lawyer in the Madras High Court in 1952 and was appointed as the Additional Solicitor General of India in 1973. He was appointed as the Attorney General of India in 1983 and held the post till 1989. He has also served as the Additional Advocate General of Tamil Nadu from 1989 to 1990. He has represented India in various international forums and has also been a part of the Indian delegation to the United Nations. He has also been a part of the Indian delegation to the International Court of Justice. He has also been a part of the Indian delegation to the International Law Commission. He has been a part of various committees and commissions such as the National Commission to Review the Working of the Constitution, the National Commission on Population, the National Commission on Women, the National Commission on Labour, the National Commission on Farmers, and the National Commission on Human Rights. In 1949, he married Saroja, and has three sons, Mohan Parasaran, who was Solicitor General of India during the Congress led UPA 2 Government, Balaji Parasaran, and Satish Parasaran and two daughters.

Keshava Parasaran (born 9 October 1927) is a lawyer from India. He was Advocate General of Tamil Nadu during President's rule in 1976, Solicitor General of India under the then Prime Minister Indira Gandhi and then, Attorney General of India under Prime Ministers Indira Gandhi and Rajiv Gandhi between 1983 and 1989, till the end of Rajiv Gandhi's tenure. Parasaran was awarded the Padma Bhushan in the year 2003 and Padma Vibhushan in the year 2011. In June 2012, he received a presidential nomination to the Rajya Sabha, the upper house of India's parliament, for a period of six years. He is a member of Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra. In 2019 the Central Government appointed him to lead the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra. However later, Mahant Nritya Gopal Das was appointed to lead the trust. The trust will oversee the construction of Ram Temple in Ayodhya.
