K. Suresh Kurup is an Indian politician who is currently serving as the Minister for Forests, Wildlife Protection, and Environment in the Government of Kerala. He was born on 25 May 1956 in Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala. He is a member of the Communist Party of India (Marxist). K. Suresh Kurup completed his Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Kerala in 1978. He then went on to pursue a Master of Arts degree in Political Science from the same university in 1980. K. Suresh Kurup has been actively involved in politics since his college days. He was the president of the Kerala Students Union from 1978 to 1980. He was also the president of the Kerala State Youth Federation from 1980 to 1982. K. Suresh Kurup has held various positions in the Government of Kerala. He was the Minister for Education from 2006 to 2011. He was also the Minister for Forests and Environment from 2011 to 2016. He is currently serving as the Minister for Forests, Wildlife Protection, and Environment in the Government of Kerala. K. Suresh Kurup is married to Dr. K. Jayasree and the couple has two children.
