Karpoor Chandra Kulish was an Indian journalist, editor, and publisher who founded the Rajasthan Patrika, a Hindi-language daily newspaper. He was born in Malpura, Tonk, Rajasthan, India, on 20 March 1926. He was the son of a school teacher. Kulish was educated at the Government High School in Malpura and then at the Government College in Jaipur. He then went on to study at the University of Rajasthan, where he earned a degree in English literature. Kulish began his career as a journalist in 1947, when he joined the Hindi-language daily newspaper, Rajasthan Patrika. He was appointed as the editor of the paper in 1950 and went on to become its publisher in 1954. Under his leadership, the paper became one of the most widely read newspapers in India. Kulish was also a social activist and was involved in various social causes. He was a member of the Rajasthan Legislative Assembly from 1962 to 1967. He was also a member of the Rajasthan Pradesh Congress Committee from 1967 to 1972. Kulish was awarded the Padma Bhushan, India's third highest civilian award, in 1971. He passed away on 28 April, 2006 at the age of 80.
