Kazuyasu Shiina is a Japanese politician who has served in the House of Representatives since 1996. He is a member of the Liberal Democratic Party and currently serves as the Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries. Shiina was born on 15 January 1952 in Choshi, Chiba. He graduated from the University of Tokyo in 1975 with a degree in law. After graduating, he worked as a lawyer in Chiba Prefecture. In 1996, Shiina was elected to the House of Representatives for the first time. He has since been re-elected seven times. He has held various positions in the Liberal Democratic Party, including Deputy Secretary-General and Chairman of the Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries Committee. In 2020, Shiina was appointed as the Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries. Shiina is married and has two children. His hobbies include golf and fishing.
