Khuon Sodary is a Cambodian politician and former Prime Minister of Cambodia. She was born in Sangkae, Cambodia, and is the daughter of a former Prime Minister of Cambodia. She attended the University of Phnom Penh and graduated with a degree in economics. Khuon Sodary began her political career in the 1980s, when she was appointed as a minister in the government of Prime Minister Hun Sen. She served in various ministerial positions, including Minister of Education, Minister of Social Affairs, and Minister of Women's Affairs. In 1993, she was appointed as Prime Minister of Cambodia, becoming the first female Prime Minister in the country's history. Khuon Sodary served as Prime Minister until 1998, when she was replaced by Hun Sen. She then served as a member of the National Assembly until 2003. In 2004, she was appointed as the Minister of Women's Affairs, a position she held until her retirement in 2008. Khuon Sodary is currently 72 years old.
