Kostas Skandalidis is a Greek politician who served as Minister of Finance from 2012 to 2015. He was born in Kos, Greece, on 11 January 1953. He studied economics at the University of Athens and later obtained a master's degree in economics from the University of Manchester. Skandalidis began his political career in the early 1990s, when he was elected to the Greek Parliament as a member of the Panhellenic Socialist Movement (PASOK). He served as Minister of Agriculture from 2000 to 2004, and as Minister of Interior from 2004 to 2009. In 2012, he was appointed Minister of Finance, a position he held until 2015. Skandalidis is widely credited with helping to stabilize the Greek economy during the financial crisis of the late 2000s and early 2010s. He was also instrumental in the negotiation of the third bailout package for Greece in 2015. As of 2021, Kostas Skandalidis's net worth is estimated to be roughly $1 million.
