She has also produced the films The Break-Up, The Switch, and The Intern. Zaks was born on July 11, 1964 in Plainview, New York. She attended the University of Pennsylvania, where she earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in English. Zaks began her career in television in the late 1980s, working as a production assistant on the sitcom Cheers. She then went on to work as a production coordinator on the series Mad About You. In 1994, she was promoted to producer on the show. In 1998, Zaks joined the production team of the hit sitcom Friends, where she worked as a producer for the show's final four seasons. She then went on to produce the films The Break-Up, The Switch, and The Intern. In 2009, Zaks joined the production team of the hit sitcom The Big Bang Theory, where she worked as a producer for the show's first seven seasons.
