Lee Oskar is a Danish-American musician, composer, and actor. He is best known as the harmonica player for the band War. He has released several solo albums and has composed music for films and television. Oskar was born in Copenhagen, Denmark, on March 24, 1948. He began playing the harmonica at the age of seven and was soon performing in clubs and on the radio. In 1969, he joined the band War, which went on to become one of the most successful funk bands of the 1970s. In 1978, Oskar left War to pursue a solo career. He released his first solo album, Lee Oskar, in 1979. He has since released several more solo albums, as well as several albums with his band, Natural Elements. He has also composed music for films and television, including the theme song for the television show Miami Vice. Oskar has won several awards, including a Grammy Award for Best R&B Instrumental Performance in 1985. He has also been inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame as a member of War.
