Ljubiša Spajić was a professional footballer who played for several clubs in Yugoslavia, including Red Star Belgrade, Partizan Belgrade, and Dinamo Zagreb. He was a member of the Yugoslav national team from 1950 to 1956, and was part of the team that won the silver medal at the 1952 Summer Olympics in Helsinki. Spajić was known for his strong defensive play and was considered one of the best defenders in Yugoslavia during his playing days. He was also known for his leadership skills, and was appointed captain of the Yugoslav national team in 1954. After retiring from football in 1959, Spajić went on to become a successful coach, leading Red Star Belgrade to the Yugoslav Cup in 1965 and the Yugoslav championship in 1966. He also coached the Yugoslav national team from 1967 to 1969. Spajić was inducted into the Yugoslav Football Hall of Fame in 2004. He is currently 97 years old.
