Lone Bastholm is a Danish actress, director, and writer. She is best known for her roles in the films 'The Element of Crime' (1984) and 'The Kingdom' (1994). She has also appeared in numerous television series, including 'The Killing' (2007-2012) and 'Borgen' (2010-2013). Bastholm was born in Julianehaab, Greenland, on 11 September 1934. She studied at the Royal Danish Theatre School in Copenhagen, graduating in 1959. She made her film debut in the 1964 drama 'The Red Mantle'. Bastholm has appeared in over 30 films and television series. She won the Bodil Award for Best Actress in a Leading Role for her performance in 'The Element of Crime' (1984). She was also nominated for the Bodil Award for Best Actress in a Supporting Role for her performance in 'The Kingdom' (1994). Bastholm has been married twice. She has two children from her first marriage. She currently resides in Copenhagen.
