Louise Arthur was an American actress who had a career spanning over four decades. She was born in Buffalo, New York, on January 28, 1918. She began her career in the 1930s, appearing in films such as The Big Broadcast of 1936 and The Big Broadcast of 1937. She also appeared in the 1940s films The Great Gildersleeve and The Great Gildersleeve's Double Trouble. In the 1950s, Arthur appeared in television shows such as The Adventures of Ozzie and Harriet, The George Burns and Gracie Allen Show, and The Red Skelton Show. She also appeared in the 1960s television series The Beverly Hillbillies and The Andy Griffith Show. Arthur was married to actor and director Robert Arthur from 1941 until his death in 1968. She had no children. Arthur died on April 8, 2003, in Los Angeles, California, at the age of 85. Her net worth at the time of her death was estimated to be around $1 million.
