M. Wesley Swearingen was an American FBI agent and author. He was born in Ohio on May 20, 1927. He served in the United States Navy during World War II and then joined the FBI in 1951. He served in the FBI for 25 years, retiring in 1976. Swearingen wrote several books about his experiences in the FBI, including The FBI Nobody Knows (1974), The FBI and I (1977), and The FBI and Me (1980). He also wrote a book about the Kennedy assassination, The CIA and the Cult of Intelligence (1974). Swearingen was 96 years old when he passed away in 2021. He was married to his wife, Mary, for over 60 years. He had two children, a son and a daughter. Swearingen was a highly respected member of the FBI and was known for his dedication to the agency. He was awarded the FBI Medal of Merit in 1976 for his service. He was also a member of the Association of Former FBI Agents. Swearingen's net worth is unknown.
