He previously served as Minister of Foreign Affairs from 2003 to 2006 and as Minister of State for the Interior from 2006 to 2008. Born in Abeche, Chad in 1961, Saleh studied at the University of N'Djamena and the University of Paris. He began his political career in the early 1990s, serving as a diplomat in the Chadian Embassy in France. In 2003, he was appointed Minister of Foreign Affairs, a post he held until 2006. In 2006, he was appointed Minister of State for the Interior, a post he held until 2008. In April 2016, Saleh was appointed Prime Minister of Chad by President Idriss Deby.
