Mahawa Bangoura is a Guinean politician who served as the Prime Minister of Guinea from 1984 to 1985. She was the first female Prime Minister in the history of Guinea. Bangoura was born on 13 March 1927 in Guinea. She studied at the University of Paris and obtained a degree in law. She then returned to Guinea and worked as a lawyer. Bangoura was appointed Prime Minister of Guinea in 1984, becoming the first female Prime Minister in the history of the country. She served in the post until 1985. Bangoura has also served as a member of the National Assembly of Guinea and as a member of the Economic and Social Council of Guinea. Bangoura is currently 96 years old.
