Marcel Allain was a French novelist and screenwriter. He was born in Paris on 15 September 1885. He was best known for his collaboration with Pierre Souvestre on the Fantômas series of novels. Allain studied law at the University of Paris and worked as a journalist for the newspaper Le Matin. He wrote his first novel, La Ville des ténèbres, in 1910. He then collaborated with Souvestre on the Fantômas series, which was published between 1911 and 1913. The series was a huge success and was adapted into films, plays, and comic books. Allain wrote several other novels, including La Fin de Satan (1914), Le Diable au Coeur (1915), and La Maison des sept jeunes filles (1917). He also wrote several screenplays, including La Maison des sept jeunes filles (1917) and La Fin de Satan (1919). Allain died in Paris on 28 August 1970. He was 84 years old.
