Marcin Bay-Rydzewski was a Polish actor and theatre director. He was born on 12 November 1877 in Grodzisko Dolne, Galicia, Austria-Hungary (now Grodzisko Dolne, Podkarpackie, Poland). He was the son of Stanisław Bay-Rydzewski and Maria née Kowalewska. He studied at the Jagiellonian University in Kraków and at the Academy of Dramatic Arts in Vienna. He made his stage debut in 1901 at the Teatr Miejski in Kraków. He then worked at the Teatr Polski in Lwów, the Teatr im. Juliusza Słowackiego in Kraków, and the Teatr im. Stefana Jaracza in Łódź. In the interwar period, he was the director of the Teatr im. Juliusza Słowackiego in Kraków and the Teatr im. Stefana Jaracza in Łódź. He was also a professor at the State Theatre School in Kraków. He was awarded the Order of Polonia Restituta in 1937. He died on 15 April 1945 in Kraków.
