He went on to become an editor on films such as The Full Monty (1997), Billy Elliot (2000), and The Queen (2006). Day has been nominated for two Academy Awards for Best Film Editing, for The King's Speech and The Theory of Everything. He has also been nominated for two BAFTA Awards for Best Editing, for The King's Speech and The Iron Lady. Day is married to film editor Lesley Walker, with whom he has two children.
