Markku Yli-Isotalo is a Finnish wrestler who won a bronze medal in the Greco-Roman wrestling at the 1976 Summer Olympics in Montreal. He also won a silver medal at the 1974 World Championships in Greco-Roman wrestling. Yli-Isotalo was born on 9 November 1952 in Kuortane, Finland. He began wrestling at the age of 15 and went on to become one of the most successful wrestlers in Finland. He won the Finnish national championship in Greco-Roman wrestling in 1974, 1975, 1976, 1977, 1978, 1979, 1980, and 1981. Yli-Isotalo is married to his wife, Marja-Liisa, and they have two children. He currently works as a wrestling coach and is a member of the Finnish Wrestling Federation. He is also a member of the International Wrestling Hall of Fame.
