In 2017, Redmond wrote and directed the comedy horror short film Allen + Millie: A Short Romance (2017). Starring Scream Queen Brooke Lewis (iMurders; Slime City Massacre) and Courtney Gains (Children of the Corn; Back to the Future), the short garnered 31 short film awards from such festivals as the Los Angeles Film Awards, the Sicily International Film Festival and more.
In 2016, Redmond directed and starred in the independent film, The 6th Degree, a psychological thriller that he also wrote and co-produced. The cast included Redmond, Mackenzie Astin (The Facts of Life, Scandal, Homeland), Jessica Morris (One Life to Live, Role Models), and the award-winning Turkish Actress Fadik Sevin Atasoy [tr] in her first American role (Blue Lodge, Usta). The film's original jazz score was composed by music veteran Shie Rozow, who's credits include Avengers: Age of Ultron (2014), Guardians of the Galaxy (2014) and Dark Shadows (2012) and Oz the Great and Powerful (2013).
