In 1965, he founded Sloane & Company, a private investment firm. Sloane has served on the boards of numerous companies, including the Boston Globe, the New England Aquarium, and the Boston Symphony Orchestra. He is also a trustee of the Boston Museum of Fine Arts and a member of the Harvard Corporation. Sloane is married to his wife, Barbara, and they have three children.
