Mary Kennedy is an Irish broadcaster and writer. She is best known for her work on the RTÉ television series Nationwide. She has also presented the Eurovision Song Contest and the Rose of Tralee. Kennedy was born in Clondalkin, Dublin, Ireland on 4 October 1954. She attended University College Dublin, where she studied English and French. Kennedy began her broadcasting career in the late 1970s, working as a continuity announcer for RTÉ. She then moved on to become a presenter on the RTÉ television series Nationwide. She has also presented the Eurovision Song Contest and the Rose of Tralee. Kennedy has written several books, including her autobiography, Mary Kennedy: A Life in Full Colour, which was published in 2011. Kennedy is married to the former RTÉ director general Bob Collins.
