Maxene Andrews was an American singer and actress. She was one of the three Andrews Sisters, a popular singing group during the 1940s. She was born on January 3, 1916 in Minneapolis, Minnesota. She began her career as a singer in the 1930s, performing with her sisters LaVerne and Patty. The trio had a string of hits, including "Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy" and "Don't Sit Under the Apple Tree". Maxene was also an actress, appearing in several films, including "The Gang's All Here" (1943) and "The Big Broadcast of 1938" (1938). She also appeared on television, including "The Ed Sullivan Show" and "The Hollywood Palace". Maxene was married twice, first to William Moss from 1941 to 1945, and then to Robert Carpenter from 1945 until her death in 1995. She had no children. Maxene Andrews had an estimated net worth of $2 million at the time of her death.
