Michel Journiac was a French artist, filmmaker, and writer. He was born in Paris on October 7, 1935, and died in Paris on February 8, 1995. He studied at the École des Beaux-Arts in Paris and at the École des Arts Décoratifs. Journiac was a pioneer of performance art in France, and his work often explored the relationship between art and life. He was a member of the Fluxus movement, and his work often incorporated elements of chance and improvisation. He also wrote several books, including "The Art of Living" and "The Art of Dying". Journiac's films include "The Death of a Poet" (1966), "The Death of a Painter" (1967), and "The Death of a Sculptor" (1968). He also directed several short films, including "The Death of a Clown" (1969) and "The Death of a Dancer" (1970). Journiac's work has been exhibited in numerous galleries and museums, including the Centre Pompidou in Paris, the Museum of Modern Art in New York, and the Tate Modern in London.
