Michiel Holtackers is a Dutch politician and police officer who has served as a Member of the House of Representatives since 2017. He is a member of the Labour Party (PvdA). Prior to his political career, Holtackers was a police officer for over 30 years. He was also a trade union leader, serving as the chairman of the Dutch Police Union from 2006 to 2017. Holtackers was born on 19 October 1956 in Arnhem, Netherlands. He studied at the Police Academy in Apeldoorn and graduated in 1979. He then worked as a police officer in various cities in the Netherlands, including Amsterdam, Rotterdam, and Utrecht. In 2006, Holtackers was elected chairman of the Dutch Police Union. He held this position until 2017, when he was elected to the House of Representatives. In the House of Representatives, Holtackers is a member of the Labour Party (PvdA). He is a member of the Committee for Home Affairs and Kingdom Relations and the Committee for Justice and Security. Holtackers is married and has two children.
