Mohammad Asim Asim is an Afghan politician and diplomat who served as the Minister of Foreign Affairs from 2004 to 2009. He was born in 1958 in Kabul, Afghanistan. Asim was educated at Kabul University, where he earned a degree in Political Science. He then went on to pursue a Master's degree in International Relations from the University of London. Asim began his career in the Afghan government in the 1980s, serving as an advisor to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. He then went on to serve as the Afghan Ambassador to the United Kingdom from 1992 to 1996. In 2004, Asim was appointed as the Minister of Foreign Affairs, a position he held until 2009. During his tenure, he was instrumental in the establishment of diplomatic relations with several countries, including the United States, India, and China. Asim is currently the Chairman of the Afghan Institute for Strategic Studies. He is also a member of the Afghan National Security Council. Asim is married and has two children. His current age is 62.
