Mohit Suri is an Indian film director, producer, and screenwriter. He is best known for directing films such as Aashiqui 2 (2013), Ek Villain (2014), Half Girlfriend (2017), and Malang (2020). Born on 11 April 1981 in Mumbai, Maharashtra, India, Suri is the son of Bollywood film director Mahesh Bhatt and his first wife Kiran Bhatt. He has two siblings, Pooja Bhatt and Rahul Bhatt. Suri attended the University of Mumbai, where he studied commerce. He then went on to pursue a career in filmmaking. Suri made his directorial debut with the film Kalyug (2005). He then went on to direct Awarapan (2007), Raaz: The Mystery Continues (2009), Murder 2 (2011), Aashiqui 2 (2013), Ek Villain (2014), Half Girlfriend (2017), and Malang (2020). Suri has won several awards for his work, including the Filmfare Award for Best Director for Aashiqui 2 (2013). As of 2021, Mohit Suri's net worth is estimated to be around $20 million.

2015

In 2015, he directed his next movie, Hamari Adhuri Kahani. He worked with Arjun Kapoor and Shraddha Kapoor in the movie Half Girlfriend as a director which is based on a famous novel by Chetan Bhagat. The film was a commercial success. He debuted on small screen from Nach Baliye 8 as one of the judges of the show. He formed EMI Records India, one of the best musical platforms in India, which has produced singers like Yash Narvekar, Anushka Shahaney etc.

Mohit Suri is an Indian film director. He is known for directing films such as the suspensive thriller Murder 2 (2011), the musical romance Aashiqui 2 (2013) and the romantic thrillers Ek Villain (2014) and Malang (2020). He is married to Udita Goswami since 2013.

His next film Awarapan (2007) was both a critical and commercial success. It was a copy of the Korean film 'A Bittersweet Life' from 2005. In an interview given to Radio Sargam, Mohit said, "I am very critical about my own work. I would never ever go out and say that I have made a masterpiece. I just give my best and hope that it's good enough." His preceding film Crook, an action thriller based on the racial attacks on Indian students in Australia was released in 2010. Murder 2, which turned out to be a Blockbuster, a sequel to the 2004 film Murder was released on 8 July 2011.

He started his career as an assistant director and made his debut as a director with the 2005 film Zeher which was a moderate success. He followed it up with Kalyug, which was both a critical and commercial success. His third film Woh Lamhe (2006) did well and received critical acclaim.
