Morad Ali Shirani is an Iranian wrestler who was born on 21 March, 1955 in Isfahan, Iran. He is a two-time Olympic medalist, having won a silver medal in the 1984 Summer Olympics in Los Angeles and a bronze medal in the 1988 Summer Olympics in Seoul. He is also a four-time World Champion and a four-time Asian Champion. Shirani began wrestling at the age of 12 and was coached by his father, Ali Shirani. He competed in the Greco-Roman style of wrestling and was known for his strength and technique. He won his first international medal in 1977, a bronze at the World Championships in Mexico City. He went on to win four World Championships and four Asian Championships. Shirani retired from wrestling in 1992 and has since become a coach and mentor to young wrestlers. He is currently the head coach of the Iranian national wrestling team. He is also a member of the International Olympic Committee and the Iranian Wrestling Federation.
