Morris Barry was a British television producer and director, best known for his work on Doctor Who. He was born in Potterspury, Northamptonshire, England, UK on 9 February 1918. He began his career in television in the 1950s, working as a production assistant on the BBC's Sunday Night at the London Palladium. He then moved on to directing, and in 1963 he was appointed as the producer of Doctor Who. He produced the show for three years, from 1963 to 1966, and was responsible for introducing the Daleks and the Cybermen to the show. Barry also directed several episodes of Doctor Who, including the classic story "The Dalek Invasion of Earth". He also directed episodes of other popular British television shows, such as The Avengers, The Saint, and The Champions. In later years, Barry worked as a producer and director on a number of other television shows, including The Sweeney, The Professionals, and The Bill. He retired from television in the late 1980s. Morris Barry passed away on 28 April, 2006, at the age of 88. His net worth is estimated to be around $2 million.
