Mukunda Hari Shrestha is a Nepalese long-distance runner who was born on 14 December, 1955 in Nepal. He is best known for his achievements in long-distance running, having won several medals in international competitions. He has represented Nepal in the Asian Games, the South Asian Games, and the IAAF World Cross Country Championships. Shrestha began his career in athletics in the early 1970s, competing in the 5000m and 10,000m events. He won his first international medal in the 1975 South Asian Games, where he won a bronze medal in the 10,000m event. He went on to win a gold medal in the 10,000m event at the 1979 South Asian Games, and a silver medal in the 5000m event at the 1982 Asian Games. Shrestha also competed in the IAAF World Cross Country Championships, where he finished in the top 10 in the senior men's race in 1983 and 1984. He also competed in the 1984 Los Angeles Olympics, where he finished in the top 50 in the 10,000m event. Shrestha retired from competitive athletics in the late 1980s, and is now a coach and mentor to young athletes in Nepal. He is also a member of the Nepal Olympic Committee.
