He served in the US Army during World War II and wrote camp shows, later performing in New York nightclubs and writing special material for Tallulah Bankhead, Dorothy Loudon, Lena Horne, Hermione Gingold and Chris Connor. His stage scores include "Triple Galop" (Paris), and "The Dancing Heiress", and he wrote songs for Broadway revues including "New Faces" (1952, 1956) and off-Broadway shows including "Chic" and "Four Below".
