Nazmi Yükselen is a Turkish artist who was born in 1926 in Milas, Turkey. He is best known for his abstract paintings and sculptures. He has exhibited his work in numerous galleries and museums around the world, including the Istanbul Modern Art Museum, the Istanbul Biennial, and the Venice Biennale. Yükselen studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Istanbul and graduated in 1950. He has been a professor at the Academy since 1965. He has also been a visiting professor at the University of California, Berkeley, and the University of Michigan. Yükselen has received numerous awards for his work, including the State Artist Award from the Turkish Ministry of Culture in 1988 and the Grand Prize from the Istanbul Biennial in 1992. He is also a member of the International Association of Art Critics. Yükselen is currently 89 years old and his net worth is estimated to be around $1 million.
