Nikolaus Senn is a Swiss banker and entrepreneur who has been active in the banking industry since the 1950s. He is the founder of the Swiss private bank, Senn Vontobel & Co. AG, which he established in 1965. Senn was born in Herisau, Canton of Appenzell Ausserrhoden, Switzerland, on 22 October 1926. He studied economics at the University of Zurich and graduated in 1952. Senn began his career in banking in 1952, when he joined the Swiss Bank Corporation in Zurich. He then moved to the Union Bank of Switzerland in Basel, where he worked until 1965. In 1965, he founded Senn Vontobel & Co. AG, a private bank in Zurich. Senn has been a member of the board of directors of several companies, including the Swiss Bank Corporation, the Union Bank of Switzerland, and the Swiss National Bank. He is also a member of the board of trustees of the Swiss National Bank Foundation. Senn is married and has two children. He is 88 years old.
