Nils Skutle is a Norwegian politician who served as the Minister of Fisheries from 1997 to 2000. He was born in Odda Municipality, Norway on 16 August 1953. He is 67 years old. Skutle graduated from the University of Bergen in 1979 with a degree in political science. He then worked as a political advisor for the Norwegian Labour Party from 1979 to 1981. Skutle was elected to the Norwegian Parliament in 1989 and served until 2001. He was the Minister of Fisheries from 1997 to 2000. He was also the Minister of Local Government and Regional Development from 2000 to 2001. Skutle is currently the chairman of the board of the Norwegian Institute of Marine Research.
