Olivia Newton-John is an English-Australian singer, songwriter, actress, entrepreneur, and activist. Olivia Newton-John was born on 26 September 1948 in Cambridge, England, to Irene (née Born) and Brinley "Bryn" Newton-John, a former soldier. She is of English, Welsh, and German descent. She emigrated to Australia with her family in 1954, and studied at Melbourne University, where she earned a degree in English and philosophy.
Olivia Newton-John began her music career in 1971, when she signed with EMI Records. She released her debut single, "Till You Say You'll Be Mine," in 1972. The single was a hit in Australia, and she followed it up with her debut album, If Not For You, in 1971. The album was a success, and spawned the hit single "Let Me Be There," which reached number six on the US Billboard Hot 100.
Olivia Newton-John has released a total of 24 studio albums, including the multi-platinum Physical (1981), which spawned the number-one single "Physical." On May 13, 2017, it was reported that she has canceled concerts due to sciatica complications and treatment for it in the middle of touring her new inspirational album "LIV ON". On May 30, it was reported that her back pain actually caused by breast cancer returning she already beat twice - in 1992 and 2013 - and now it metastasized to her sacrum reaching stage IV.
