Oreste Biancoli was an Italian writer, director, and soundtrack composer. He was born in Bologna, Emilia-Romagna, Italy, on 20 February 1897. He was best known for his work on the films La vita è bella (1947), La strada (1954), and Il gattopardo (1963). Biancoli began his career as a writer and director in the 1930s, writing and directing several short films. He then went on to write and direct several feature films, including La vita è bella (1947), La strada (1954), and Il gattopardo (1963). He also composed the soundtracks for several of his films. Biancoli was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Original Screenplay for La strada in 1955. He was also nominated for a BAFTA Award for Best Screenplay for Il gattopardo in 1964. Biancoli died on 28 April, 1975 in Rome, Italy. His net worth is unknown.
