He has two siblings, Thaksin Shinawatra Jr. and Yaowapa Wongsawat. Panthongtae attended Chulalongkorn University in Bangkok, where he earned a degree in business administration. After graduating, he worked in the family business, Shinawatra Corporation, before founding Voice TV in 2004.
