Pedro Luís Guido Scarpa was born on 7 February 1925 in Angola. He was a Portuguese-Angolan politician and diplomat who served as the first Prime Minister of Angola from 1975 to 1979. He was also the first president of the National Assembly of Angola from 1975 to 1979. Scarpa was born in Angola to a Portuguese father and an Angolan mother. He studied law at the University of Lisbon and was a professor of law at the University of Coimbra. He was a member of the Portuguese Communist Party and was a leader of the Angolan independence movement. Scarpa was appointed as the first Prime Minister of Angola in 1975 and served until 1979. He was also the first president of the National Assembly of Angola from 1975 to 1979. Scarpa died on 28 April 2020 at the age of 93. He was survived by his wife, two sons, and two daughters. Scarpa was a wealthy man and had an estimated net worth of $10 million. He earned his wealth through his political career and investments.
