Peter Cox is an English singer, songwriter, and record producer. He is best known as the lead singer and guitarist of the band Go West. He has also released several solo albums and has written and produced music for other artists. Cox was born in London, England, on 17 November 1955. He began playing guitar at the age of 12 and formed his first band at the age of 15. He attended the University of London and graduated with a degree in English Literature. In 1982, Cox formed the band Go West with bassist Richard Drummie. The band released their debut album, Go West, in 1985 and had several hits in the UK and US, including "We Close Our Eyes" and "King of Wishful Thinking". The band released four more albums before disbanding in 1996. Cox has released several solo albums, including Peter Cox (1995), Soul on Board (1998), and King Without a Crown (2003). He has also written and produced music for other artists, including the Spice Girls, Boyzone, and Westlife. Cox has been married twice and has two children. He currently resides in London.
