Peter Kennedy (figure skater) is a former American figure skater who competed in the 1948 Winter Olympics. He was born on 4 September, 1927 in Olympia, Washington, U.S. Kennedy began skating at the age of seven and was coached by his father, Michael Edward Kennedy II. He won the U.S. National Figure Skating Championships in 1947 and 1948. He also competed in the 1948 Winter Olympics in St. Moritz, Switzerland, where he placed sixth. Kennedy retired from competitive skating in 1950 and went on to become a coach and choreographer. He coached many skaters, including Peggy Fleming, Dorothy Hamill, and Scott Hamilton. He also choreographed for the Ice Capades and the Ice Follies. Kennedy was inducted into the U.S. Figure Skating Hall of Fame in 1982. He is currently 96 years old and has a net worth of $1 million.
