Raja Wanasundera was a Sri Lankan politician and diplomat who served as the Minister of Foreign Affairs from 1977 to 1978. He was a member of the United National Party and was a Member of Parliament for Ratnapura from 1965 to 1977. Raja Wanasundera was born on 11 February 1924 in Ratnapura, Sabaragamuwa, British Ceylon. He was educated at the Royal College, Colombo and the University of Ceylon, Colombo. He was a lawyer by profession and was a member of the Ceylon Bar Association. Raja Wanasundera was a member of the United National Party and was elected to the House of Representatives in 1965. He was appointed Minister of Foreign Affairs in 1977 and served until 1978. He was also a member of the United Nations General Assembly from 1977 to 1978. Raja Wanasundera passed away on 28 April 2012 at the age of 88. He was survived by his wife, two sons and two daughters. Raja Wanasundera had an estimated net worth of $1 million at the time of his death.
