Richard Herrey is a Swedish actor, singer, and songwriter. He is best known as one of the four members of the pop group Herreys, which won the Eurovision Song Contest in 1984 with the song "Diggi-Loo Diggi-Ley". Herrey was born on 19 August 1964 in Stockholm, Sweden. He is the son of actor and singer Lars Herrey and actress and singer Birgitta Herrey. He has two siblings, Per and Marie. Herrey began his career as an actor in the early 1980s, appearing in several Swedish films and television series. In 1984, he and his brothers formed the pop group Herreys, which went on to win the Eurovision Song Contest with the song "Diggi-Loo Diggi-Ley". The group released several albums and singles, and toured extensively throughout Europe. In the late 1990s, Herrey began to focus more on his acting career, appearing in several Swedish films and television series. He also appeared in the musicals "The Sound of Music" and "Cabaret". Herrey is currently married to singer and actress Maria Lundqvist, with whom he has two children. He is also a member of the Swedish Academy of Music.
