"In 2009, Rik played the title role in "Macbeth.
" In 2008, Rik played the title role in the critically acclaimed "Hamlet", Jacques in "As You Like It" and Professor Meredith in the World Premiere of "The Little Death" with Eclectic Theater Company. He also played the Psychiatrist in the short film "Queen of Wands.
2006 marked a role in the feature film "The Standard" which had it's World Premiere at The Seattle International Film Festival on June 15, 2007 and subsequently played at four film festivals across the country. Rik appeared as Jared in a short film, "Obsession", directed by Hollywood veteran actress Britt Lind, which he also served as Producer on.
In 2007, Rik was one of the stars of the short film "Sausage Fest.
2005 proved to be an exciting year for Rik. In January, he had a cameo role in "Snow Day, Bloody Snow Day" (which had twenty different film festival screenings).
In 2001, after graduating with a BFA in Acting he immediately began working as an Actor and as a Stage Manager for various theater companies in the Seattle area and playing roles in various short films, commercials and student films.

In 1996 he toured nationally in "Captain Hydro & the Water Bandit" for Small Change Original Theatre in Minneapolis.
Rik moved to Seattle in 1994 and continued work as an Actor on stage, on film and TV.
This culminated in 1993 with a production of "Mossy Cape", which was subsequently published by I. E. Clark. Concurrently he was touring in two shows with the Children's Theatre of Houston: "A Readers Theatre Extravaganza" and "Fairy Tale Trilogy". Rik also worked in various crew positions at The Country Playhouse. He was also a theatre student at North Harris College and played Sitting Bull in "Indians" and was part of the ensemble in "Cabaret". He was then cast in his first made for video film, "Evil Night". That was followed up with roles in "Demon Dolls" & "Dummy".
Upon his return to Houston in 1988, he began working with a former theatre classmate, Chris Berube, and worked with him as an actor in a "3 Guys & A Skirt" and "The Best of Times".
Rik Deskin was born in Hamilton Ohio. He grew up in the Greater Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky area. At 16, he moved to Houston, Texas with his family. As a Junior he began taking Drama classes at Jersey Village High School under the tutelage of Hal Miller. His first on stage role was as a Bond Salesman Ant in "The World We Live In". He followed that up in his Senior year with roles in "The Death and Life of Sneaky Fitch" and "South Pacific". He also acted in several student films and produced his first short student film. After graduating High School, Rik served honorably in the United States Air Force. For the first two years in his off-duty time overseas in the Netherlands, Rik wrote screenplays, experimented with photography and Super 8 Film. At his second assignment in upstate New York in 1987 he formed an on base Theatre troupe called The Griffiss Players. He acted in and produced "Plaza Suite". He also worked crew positions at the Rome Community Theatre.
That fall he had a leading role as Detective Trotter in "The Mousetrap" at Playhouse 1960. He took a comedy improvisation class at The Comedy Workshop and scored his first professional acting job as part of the ensemble in a sketch comedy show called "Squeal of Fortune" at The Comedy Workshop.
He was then cast as Jonathan Brewster in "Arsenic & Old Lace" at Playhouse 1960 and began a stint of acting and directing plays at Playhouse 1960. Rik began collaborating with Playwright/Writer Rosemary Poole-Carter on Staged Readings of original plays that she was developing.
