Roy Atwell was an American actor, writer, and composer. He was born on May 2, 1878 in Syracuse, New York. He began his career in vaudeville and went on to appear in over 100 films and television shows. He is best known for his role as Doc in the 1937 Disney film Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs. Atwell was also a prolific writer and composer, writing over 200 songs and musicals. He wrote the popular song "I'm Just Wild About Harry" which was featured in the 1921 Broadway musical Shuffle Along. He also wrote the music for the musicals The Red Mill and The Three Musketeers. Atwell was married twice and had two children. He died on April 23, 1962 in Los Angeles, California. At the time of his death, he was 84 years old.
