S. B. Yalegama was a Sri Lankan politician and diplomat who served as the Minister of Foreign Affairs from 1977 to 1978. He was born on 16 October 1925 in Sri Lanka. Yalegama was educated at the Royal College Colombo and the University of Ceylon. He was a member of the Sri Lankan Parliament from 1965 to 1977. He was appointed as the Minister of Foreign Affairs in 1977 and served until 1978. Yalegama was a member of the United National Party and was a close associate of the then Prime Minister, J. R. Jayawardene. He was also a member of the United Nations General Assembly from 1978 to 1979. Yalegama was a recipient of the Sri Lankan national honour, the Sri Lanka Ratna. He passed away on 28 April 2021 at the age of 95.
