Salome Mwambu is a Tanzanian politician and former Member of Parliament for the constituency of Mwanga. She was born on 23 May 1954 in Mwanga, Tanzania. Mwambu was educated at the University of Dar es Salaam, where she obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science and Public Administration. She then went on to pursue a Master of Arts degree in International Relations at the same university. Mwambu began her political career in 1995 when she was elected to the National Assembly of Tanzania. She served as a Member of Parliament for the constituency of Mwanga until 2005. During her tenure, she served as the Chairperson of the Parliamentary Committee on Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation. Mwambu is a member of the ruling Chama Cha Mapinduzi (CCM) party. She is currently the Chairperson of the CCM Women's League. Mwambu is married and has three children.
