Sam Anoa'i is a Samoan-American professional wrestler and actor. He is best known for his time in the World Wrestling Federation (WWF) and World Championship Wrestling (WCW) under the ring name The Samoan Savage. He is a member of the Anoa'i family, a renowned Samoan wrestling dynasty. Anoa'i began his professional wrestling career in the mid-1980s, working for various promotions in the United States and Japan. He joined the WWF in 1992, where he was initially managed by Afa Anoa'i and later by his brother, Samu Anoa'i. He was a two-time WWF Intercontinental Champion and a one-time WWF Tag Team Champion with his brother. Anoa'i left the WWF in 1996 and joined WCW, where he was a one-time WCW United States Heavyweight Champion. He left WCW in 2000 and returned to the independent circuit, where he worked until his retirement in 2006. Anoa'i has also appeared in several films and television shows, including the films Ready to Rumble and The Scorpion King. He has also appeared in the television series Walker, Texas Ranger and Baywatch.
