Sameh Shoukry is an Egyptian diplomat and politician who has served as the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Egypt since 2014. He was born on 20 October 1952 in Cairo, Egypt. Shoukry graduated from Cairo University in 1975 with a degree in law. He then went on to pursue a master's degree in international law from the University of Cairo in 1978. Shoukry began his diplomatic career in 1979, when he was appointed as a diplomat in the Egyptian Embassy in Washington, D.C. He then served as the Egyptian Ambassador to the United States from 2008 to 2012. In 2014, Shoukry was appointed as the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Egypt. He has since been involved in a number of diplomatic initiatives, including the Arab Peace Initiative, the African Union, and the Non-Aligned Movement. Shoukry is married and has two children.
